To apply to the Cal Poly at Sea Program, please go to My Cal Poly Portal and subscribe to the Study Abroad Application Channel. The application can be completed in its entirety online.

How to add the Study Abroad Channel to the portal:

  1. Visit the Cal Poly Portal and log in; if you need assistance, contact the ITS Service Desk at 756-7000.
  2. Click on the "Customize" icon in the upper right-hand corner
  3. Choose a tab where you want to add a new channel and click on the that tab
  4. Click on the "New Channel" icon
  5. From the drop-down menu, select "Study Abroad" then click on the "Add" icon
  6. After returning to the "Customize" layout screen, the Study Abroad channel should be visible.   
  7. Click on the "Home" icon in the upper-right to return to the main Cal Poly portal.
  8. To Apply: Select "Cal Poly at Sea - Spring Qtr 2008"
  9. Click Apply and fill out the application

How to update your emergency contact information:

  1. Log into your portal:  my.calpoly.edu
  2. Click on the “Personal Information” Tab
  3. In the “My Student Info” channel, click on the “Emergency Contacts” link
  4. Click to “Add an Emergency Contact”
  5. Enter contact information
    1. Check the box that says “Check here if this contact has the same address/phone number as you”, text entry boxes will appear
    2. Uncheck the “Check here if this contact has the same address/phone number as you” box, and the text entry boxes will remain, you will be free to edit them.
    3. Fill in these boxes with your contact person’s address and phone number
    4. “Add additional phone numbers” (e.g. cell phone, work, etc.) in the “Other Phone Numbers” section
  6. Save your emergency contact info
  7. You may now add additional contacts, by selecting the “Add another emergency contact” option

Faculty Recommendation Letter and Form (PDF) Please turn in finished applications to Richard LeRoy's office, Building 38, Room 145.
