Ports
of Call 2005 ::
Cruise
2005 will be to South Pacific. The tentative itinerary
for the program is Lahaina, HI; Suva, Fiji; Noumea,
New Caledonia; Sydney, Australia; Auckland, New Zealand;
Rarotonga, Cook Islands; and Honolulu, HI.. This schedule
could still change. We hope to have a set schedule by
the beginning of fall quarter.
The
chartered flight from Honolulu to San Francisco International
Airport is included in your cruise fee. Students can
decide to forgo the chartered flight back to San Francisco,
without refund, and stay longer in Hawaii. However,
they would have to arrange their own airfare home.
The
ship normally schedules to be in ports for three days.
Once in port, students have the opportunity to explore.
Some on shore tourist-type excursions are prearranged,
and all cadets will have an opportunity to participate.
Some courses will include field trips or in port activities.

Hawaii. Spring 2003 students went on the South American

The 2004 Cruise
went to Asia and visited Alaskan Aleutian
Islands; Vladivostok, Russia; Mokpo,
South Korea; Saipan; Okinawa-Naha, Japan; Midway Island;
and Honolulu, Hawaii. After this spring's cruise to
South Pacific, the Golden Bear will return to South
America in spring 2006.
